Digital People in Peterborough pub meet: #DPiP 3 – Feb 3, 2010

It’s time to restart Digital People in Peterborough after a bit of a break over the Christmas and New Year period. And after some requests to mix things up a bit, we’re going to try a new date and a new venue for the first pub meet up of 2011.

So, DPiP #3 will be taking place on February 3rd, 2011, which is the first Thursday in February, and it will be at the Beehive Pub in Peterborough. It’s fairly close to the station if you’re coming by train (It’s also right next to Asda). Here’s a handy map. If you’d rather sort your own directions, the address is: 62 Albert Pl, Peterborough PE1 1DD.

We’ll be there from 7.30pm, and as always, it’s a friendly, social gathering of anyone working in digital in Peterborough and the surrounding areas. So whether you’re a designer, developer, blogger, journalist, writer, systems admin, project manager, or anything else involved in computers, websites, mobile phones, gaming etc, come along and say hello!

To give us a rough idea of numbers, please take a look and post a quick message on our new forum. This is the thread to RSVP for DPiP #3. It’ll just help us to know how big a table we need to grab!

Cheers

Dan

Hi Guys. Hope to see you on 3rd, childcare pending. HINT: Try meeting somewhere where me nice friendly 10 year old daughter can sit and colour/play on her DS.

Thought you might be interested in this link. Hot of the press today.

    Hi,
Very good point about a child-friendly place to meet. We’re planning to mix things up this year, and do some meet-ups which won’t be in a pub, as we want to make it something which is available to everyone.
Plus it’d be good to open it up to some family-led ideas for the future, and having some children along would be the perfect inspiration for that.

I promise to restart finding some alternative venues and times etc, and any suggestions are definitely welcome.

Also thanks for the link, and the social media surgeries do look interesting – if anyone in DPiP is interested in leading one, we’d definitely be able to support it, and I’d be happy to help out as a volunteer ‘surgeon’….

  4. Put me down as a maybe for #3!

I would also love a family friendly version of DPiP meet. Maybe in the warmer months we could hold a mass BBQ or brunch type event in the park or Ferry Meadows etc?
